Kindergarten Room
Mrs. Gunst
Welcome to kindergarten! I am Nichole Gunst and I am excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher! It’s going to be a great year full of new friends, new adventures, and new discoveries! This is a big step for your little ones, so please allow me to share a little about myself.
I was baptized at St. John’s in Juneau, where I attended kindergarten through eighth grade. After graduating from Dodgeland High School in Juneau, I continued my education at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and graduated in 1997. I received my first call to St. John’s Lutheran, a one room school in Bemidji, MN, to teach grades 1-7. In 1998, I married my husband Dennis, moved to Hartford, WI, and accepted the call to teach grades 7 & 8 and serve as the remedial teacher at St. John’s in Juneau. In 2000, St. John’s then called me to teach grades 2 & 3. In 2005, I was asked to teach kindergarten. I have been blessed with the wonderful opportunity to serve St. John’s as their kindergarten teacher ever since. When I’m not teaching or planning fun things for us to in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, being the leader of the 4-H Herman Hornets Club, and supporting my kids in their numerous extracurricular activities.
Children are a blessing from the Lord. It is a joy to help you teach and train your child.
Proverbs 22:6 says, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” This passage reminds us God has given me this amazing opportunity to teach His Word to His children. It is also God who gives me the ability to teach, guide, and nurture them. May God continue to guide and bless all we do!
I truly look forward to getting to know you and working with you and your child this school year!
In His Service,
