Mrs. Colantonio grew up in Morton Grove, IL, a northern suburb of Chicago, attending a Lutheran elementary school and a public high school.  In 1983, she graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education.  After beginning her teaching ministry, she obtained her synod certification in 1993 from Dr. Martin Luther College.  

Her teaching ministry began at Jerusalem Ev. Lutheran School, Morton Grove, IL.  After eight years at Jerusalem, she taught geometry and physical education at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, WI.  In 2007, she began her ministry here at St. John’s by serving in a half -time capacity in the 8th grade.  The following year she began teaching full time here.  Over the years she as taught first, second, third and fourth grades in various combinations.  She is currently teaching first and second grade, serving as co-athletic director, and coaching B team volleyball and basketball.  
 
She loves to share God’s Word with her students and what the Bible says about the Jesus’ love for us all.   In addition to sharing Jesus with her students, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Tony, her family and friends, and with her gentle giant of a puppy, Hampton.  She also likes to travel around, follow her sports teams, cook, mini-golf and generally, just have some fun!
