“The promise is for you and your children”
The Pioneers meet the 1st and 3rd Tuesday’s of each month September through early May in the church basement from 6:30 – 8:00 P.M. There is a registration meeting in September, but you can join at any time. There are also opportunities to go camping and take part in District and National Pioneer activities.
Any and all children are welcome to join our Pioneer program, both member and prospect. The fee to join Pioneers is $20.00 per year with an occasional out of pocket expense.
Any high-school student or adult can come and help with the Pioneers program. Volunteers of any skill set are welcome to assist us whether it be full or part-time or even on the occasional evening.
The Leaders are in charge of putting the program together for the night, and a little extra help goes a long way in making sure all the children are rowing in the same direction. Often time’s activities are geared towards different age groups or gender groups.
Some activities include growing in God’s Word, pine car derby, sewing, knitting, baking, cooking, crafts, fishing, hiking, team building, problem solving, camping, gun safety, singing, putting on a live nativity and visits to points of interest like museums, fish farms and DNR facilities. We deliver Easter baskets to shut-ins and friends of St. John’s, and make holiday cards to deliver throughout the year. The children receive awards at the end of the year for their achievements.
The mission of the Lutheran Pioneers is to strive to develop in each member their potential for leadership through personal interaction skills with others and promote service to the Lord and to the world around them. This will be accomplished through worship, evangelism, education, citizenship and recreational activities, all centered in God's word and consistent with the doctrine of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod or of a Lutheran Church in doctrinal fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Loyal to Christ with Lutheran Pioneers.
